Chocolate Fudge

Simple chocolate fudge with walnuts is easy to make with kids and enjoy as snacks. Ingredients Dark Chocolate- 50 gms Milk Chocolate- 50 gms Condensed milk- 50gms Walnut- chopped 20gms Vanilla essence- 1tsp Salt- pinch Nutritional Value Dark chocolate and milk chocolate calories are around 500 kcal and with condensed milk, the recipe will make mini pieces of about 15 and 50 kcal each. Method Take a heavy bottom pan and melt the chocolate first. Mix all the ingredients and stir it continuously, until it all comes together Add the chopped walnut and salt to the chocolate fudge. Line a dish with parchment paper or foil and let the fudge set in the fridge for around two hours, cut into pieces of the desired choice Enjpy!

Falafel

Origin of falafel is very contested from Middle east to Saudi Arabia, but these fried balls of chickpeas are loved all over the world and here in my home we have it as snack and sometimes the original pita bread way. Nutritional Value Every 100gms of falafel, fried and home made is around 300 kcal, which measures six to eight balls, depends on the size. The dish is all legumes, so it has protein and fiber in it, as it is fried food but also can be baked. Ingredients Chick peas- 1 cup Parsley and Coriander- Chopped bunch each Onion- 1 Chopped Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp Pepper- 1/2 tsp Salt- 2 tsp Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp Oil- 1 cup to fry Method   Soak the chickpeas over night in warm water and drain and wash it in the morning. Pumpkin Bread

A very delicious bread made with homemade pumpkin puree, perfect for your tea time or odd times sweet cravings. Nutritional Value Its a calorie packed snack and the calories also depend on the level of sweetness and butter in recipe. here I have limited the sugar content and the clarified butter is low in quantity so my whole bread give around 12 pieces and 230 kcal for one serving. Ingredients Dry Ingredients All purpose flour/Maida- 1 cup Whole Wheat- 1 cup Baking Powder- 1 tsp  Baking soda- 1/4 tsp Salt- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon Powder- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg- - 1/2 tsp Ginger Powder- - 1/2 tsp Instant Coffee- - 1/2 tsp Sugar/Jaggery- 3/4 cup   Wet Ingredient  Pumpkin Puree- 1 and 1/2 cup Ghee/ Clarified Butter- 3 tbsp Vanilla essence- 1/4 tsp Milk- 1/2 cup (adjustable) Method In a bowl first mix all the wet ingredient together and then add the dry items to it.  Now add the dry ingredients and mix them thoroughly. Scones

A very light snack for you evening tea, or an easy go to breakfast, scones plays all roles of the food horizons.     Nutritional Value Scones are basically flour and butter combination so, it has carbohydrates, fat and fiber in it. A homemade scones is roughly 280 K cal per piece and it can fluctuate according to the ingredients we add. Ingredients ( Wet) Butter- 1/2 cup cold Milk- 1/2 cup cold (Dry) Flour (half whole wheat and half all purpose)- 1 cup each Chocolate chips - 1/2 cup Sugar- 1/2 cup Salt- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon Powder- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder -1 tsp Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp Instant Coffee - 1/2 tsp Method First mix the dry ingredients together and then mix butter cubes in it. Mix it thoroughly either in a mixer or with pastry cutter until butter is seen as equally distributed chunks in it. Homely Tikki Chaat is my take on our very Indian street food, its taste as good as we eat outside cooked with the comfort of taste of home. Nutritional Value Its main ingredient is Yellow peas and potato which is mix of protein and carb, not a daily diet food, but once in a while use it as a cheat meal. Mungode

Snack for all occasions, mungode are little pakoras made with moong dal and grated cauliflower. These are one of the famous evening snacks from the heart of Madhay Pradesh. Served hot with any kind of chutney on any occasion, they wont fail to impress. Nutritional Value Each 1 cup of moong dal contains around 300 calories with 8g of protein whereas cauliflower contains 50 calories in 2 cups.
