The Secret Power of Quiet Time Before Bed

Image
In the fast-moving rhythm of our modern lives, nighttime often becomes just a quick checklist: dinner, chores, maybe a few minutes on our phones, and then straight to bed. But somewhere along the way, we’ve forgotten something simple yet magical—  a   quiet time before bed . This calm moment, often dismissed as optional, is  actually   a deeply powerful  tool. Whether you're a child tucked under a  cozy  blanket or an adult carrying the weight of the day, quiet time can help transition you from chaos to calm, from doing to simply being. Let’s take a gentle walk through the reasons why quiet time before bed is  something  worth embracing—for ourselves, our children, and our emotional well-being. A Bridge Between the Day and the Dream Our minds are like busy cities—constantly buzzing, honking with thoughts, flashing with memories, worries, and plans. Without  a moment of  pause, we carry all that mental traffic straight into our sleep...

Forgiveness

Here I am quoting poet Alexander Pope of the 17th century, who wrote, “To err is human, to forgive is divine”. We, humans, are built in a way, in which anger is a natural emotion and we become resentful with people who have harmed our emotions in any way, and to take the high road and exonerate an individual for their misbehaviour doesn't come easy for us all. When we don’t forgive, we persistently hold onto grudges and inner anguish against the person. We can overpower this by concentrating on a few steps towards recuperation. By recognising that our values are distinct from others, by endeavouring to witness things from the other person’s stance as well, and questioning ourselves, what sort of an individual are we? Are we ideal? Would we like others to overlook us when we cause a misstep? Saying all this to ourselves, ultimately, we will be able to comprehend, relish and practice the positives and blessings of forgiving.
