Bitter Gourd & Raw Banana combo

Combination of a bitter gourd and raw banana makes a perfect side dish for the upcoming winters. Here I have mixed veggies together as they complement each other flavour and balance the bitterness with mild sweet raw bananas.   Nutritional Value   Ingredients Bitter Gourd (Karela)- 250 gms - Thinly sliced Raw Banana- 150 gms ( 1 big raw banana) Onioin- Small shallot  Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp Salt-1tsp Cooking Oil- 1 tbsp Gram flour- 1 tsp   Method  Take a heavy bottom pan, add oil and mustard seeds in it. Put the thinly sliced bitter gourd and fry in high flame for two minutes, lower the flame and keep stirring for another five minutes. Now cover the pan and let the bitter gourd cook, we have to cook banana at the end as it is cooked very fast. Pav Bhaji

Pav -Bhaji is a buttery finger licking spicy street food of India, which can be easily made at home by cutting all the calories and balancing the veggies of bhaji.   Nutritional Value  The Pav are store bought and usually are 100 to 150 kcal each. While the Bhajji is made of only veggies. Ingredients Veggies for bhajji Potatao- 2 medium size Carrot- 2 Cauliflower- medium size  French Beans- 6 to 8  Bell pepper- 1 big Green peas- 1/2 cup Onion- 1 big Garlic- 10 pods Chopped coriander- a bunch  Tomato- 2 medium size Cooiking oil or Ghee- 2 tbsp Spices Coriander Powder- 1 tbsp Chilli powder- 1 tbsp Turmeric- 1/2 tbsp Pav bhajji masala- 1 tbsp Garam Masala- 1/2 tbsp Salt- 1/2 tbsp (adjust to taste) Bay leaf- 2   Method Boil all the veggies, mash it and keep aside. Mungode

Snack for all occasions, mungode are little pakoras made with moong dal and grated cauliflower. These are one of the famous evening snacks from the heart of Madhay Pradesh. Served hot with any kind of chutney on any occasion, they wont fail to impress. Nutritional Value Each 1 cup of moong dal contains around 300 calories with 8g of protein whereas cauliflower contains 50 calories in 2 cups. This recipe with serve 5 people and make around 30 to 35 balls of mungode. A very simple side dish handed from generation to generation. The simple pumpkin flowers are picked washed, and battered for a perfect side dish for our next pahadi meal. PS- This dish is prepared by my Mom and pictures are sent to me by my little sis. Just blogging little memories for future.   Nutritional Value  Pumpkin flowers are very rich in Vitamin A with add-ons of Vitamin C and Potassium . Calories in each flower fritter is almost 10 to 15 calories depends the way you cook it . A very basic way to cook Indian style mutton gravy which is full of all flavors and spices. This dish need lots of patience and each step of cooking is important to get the bone fall mutton at the end.   Nutritional Value Red meat is not suggested for regular consumption due to high cholesterol level and fat content. This dish will give 350 calories per person and the recipe serves 6 persons.
