Forgiveness
Here I am quoting poet Alexander Pope of the 17th century, who wrote, “To err is human, to forgive is divine”.
We, humans, are built in a way, in which anger is a natural emotion and we become resentful with people who have harmed our emotions in any way, and to take the high road and exonerate an individual for their misbehaviour doesn't come easy for us all. When we don’t forgive, we persistently hold onto grudges and inner anguish against the person.
We can overpower this by concentrating on a few steps towards recuperation. By recognising that our values are distinct from others, by endeavouring to witness things from the other person’s stance as well, and questioning ourselves, what sort of an individual are we? Are we ideal? Would we like others to overlook us when we cause a misstep?
Saying all this to ourselves, ultimately, we will be able to comprehend, relish and practice the positives and blessings of forgiving.
