Apple Pie

The aroma of cinnamon in my house whenever I bake delicious apple pie brings a happy autumn vibe to us. Here I have prepared a precooked filling pie with homemade dough.



Nutritional Value

The pie has lots of butter and is made of all-purpose flour with sugar in fillings and out. There is nothing healthy about it but, yes when it comes to taste it is a top gun. Anyways, this pie makes 6 big pieces, each around 300k cal.

Ingredients

2 Kg apple- Peeled and thinly sliced

1 cup Sugar

1 tbsp- cinnamon powder

1 tsp- ginger powder

2 tbsp- cornstarch

1/2 lemon juice

1 tsp- salt

1 tsp- nutmeg powder

Method

Take apples of your choice and peel them and slice thinly

Now add all the spices, sugar and juice of a lemon and let it sit for half an hour till the juices come out.

Now keep the juice in a separate bowl. Take a pan and cook the filling until they are soft.
Roll the dough and place it over the pie plate.
Make fork mark so that the base can be crisp.
Add the pre-cooked apple filling and put another layer of dough on the top and make the design as per your choice.
Bake the apple pie at 220 F for around I hour until the top layer become crisp and you can see the juices bubbling. 
Rotate the pie every 15 minutes to cook evenly.
If the top starts cooking ahead keep a foil cover over it.
Brush the apple juice of the mixture on the top of pie to give it a golden look.
